Lyn Harrison’s upcoming show,’Breath’ was inspired by a deeply personal event – the death of a cherished friend. This profound loss sparked a shift in her creative focus, steering her towards the exploration of a fundamental aspect of existence – breathing. The act of inhaling and exhaling is not just a function of survival. To Lyn, it signifies a deeper connection and the unity linking us all. Humans, animals, plants, and the expansive cosmos are interwoven. We are all bound together, reliant on the same air, the same atmosphere, thus emphasizing the universal connection we share. Each component of this vast organism, from the towering trees to the sprawling oceans contribute to the delicate balance that sustains life. Lyn’s work serves as a reminder that each part of this great organism is not only alive but also deeply interdependent. The message she conveys is clear: we are all part of an intricate, living system that grows, experiences deep sensations, and breathes just as we do.
Rather than using language Lyn has created 20 beautifully gentle paintings giving us the viewer the gift of access to her thoughts, as well as opening a window into an artist’s introspective world.
