The Nolan on Lovel gallery situated midway between Katoomba and Leura on Lovel Street was opened by Terry & Robyn Nolan in October 2008 exhibiting top class contemporary art.
Our belief is that a gallery should be more than a viewing space for art works – it should be a place of excitement, a centre of ideas and stimulation and a place where you have your eyes opened and spirit refreshed.
Before returning to formal studies and devoting herself full time to her painting, Robyn trained and worked as a potter for over twenty years. During this time she and fellow potter Jan Green ran a vibrant production workshop on the NSW northern beaches ‘South Creek Pottery’.
From 2012 the nolan on lovel katoomba/leura gallery has been used as a exhibition gallery for Robyn’s work while Terry took the time to complete renovations to the old semi-industrial building as well as re- constructing a dilapidated structure in the garden into a functional pottery. The garden has also become an important part of our lives and visitors to the gallery are welcome to wander in the garden. The gallery and the garden have become an extension of our lifestyle and we find that there is a wonderful sense of freedom living in the mountains – the wild natural beauty of the landscape and the strength and individuality of the inhabitants is very refreshing and liberating.
Alongside Robyn’s work curated exhibitions also feature at the gallery.
The gallery is also able to offer a professional shadow box framing service.
Complimentary delivery of artwork in the greater Sydney area. We are also experienced in sending artwork both interstate and internationally.
